FAQs

Overview

Our admissions process is straightforward and fully supported. Begin by submitting an enquiry through our website or contacting the Admissions Office directly. Our team will guide you through the application form, documentation, and assessment – every step of the way.

Queen Elizabeth’s School, Gurugram is one of the very few schools in India that delivers an authentic British curriculum, rooted in a 450-year legacy from Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet. Unlike many schools that offer an international curriculum in name only, we bring genuine British pedagogy, internationally trained faculty, and a whole-child approach to education that goes well beyond academics.

Admissions are open for the 2026–27 academic year right now. There is no single closing date, but places are limited and filled on a rolling basis. We strongly recommend applying early to avoid being placed on a waiting list.

Admissions are now open for Nursery/EY1 (age 3) through to Class 8/Year 9 (age 13). If your child's year group is not listed, please contact our Admissions Office. We may be able to advise on future availability or waiting list options.

We recommend beginning the admissions process online as early as possible – ideally one to two terms before your intended start date. Our team works quickly and the application process is fast, but popular year groups can fill up well ahead of the academic year.

Starting a new school can be a big change for any child. Our Admissions Team and pastoral staff work closely with every new family through a structured orientation programme – including a campus tour, introductions to key staff, and a gradual induction into school routines. Our easy process is designed to be as smooth and reassuring as possible for both children and parents.

Our dedicated Admissions Team is available by phone, email, WhatsApp, or in person to answer every question you may have about the enrolment process. You can also book a one-to-one consultation or campus tour at a time that suits your family.

Yes, mid-year admissions are considered subject to available places. If you are relocating or your circumstances have changed mid-session, please reach out to our Admissions Office and we will do our best to accommodate your child with a smooth mid-year entry.

Yes. We understand that not every family can visit in person  especially those relocating from another city or abroad. Virtual campus tours can be arranged on request through our Admissions Office. Get in touch to schedule one at a convenient time.

Once your child has completed the assessment and interview process and a place is confirmed, you will receive a formal admission offer letter from the Admissions Office. This will outline the next steps, including fee payment and documentation required to secure the place.

Yes. We welcome transfer admissions from CBSE, ICSE, IB, and other curricula. Our team assesses each transfer individually, considering the student's academic background, and provides appropriate bridging support to help them transition smoothly into the British curriculum.

Curriculum and Academic Pathways

Our curriculum follows a clear, progressive pathway across four schooling stages:

  • Pre-Prep School (EY1–Year 2): Built on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, focusing on play-based, exploratory learning
  • Prep School (Years 3–6): Building core academic skills across a broad range of subjects
  • Senior School (Years 7–11): Leading to IGCSEs, one of the world's most respected qualifications
  • Sixth Form (Years 12–13): A Levels and other Post-16 pathways preparing students for top universities in India and abroad

Each stage is designed to build naturally on the last: giving students a consistent, coherent academic journey from their very first day.

Transition support is built into our admissions and induction process. New students receive structured academic orientation, and our teachers are trained to identify gaps and provide personalised support early. For students coming from the Cambridge curriculum, CBSE, or any other international curriculum, we have clear bridging pathways to ensure a confident start.

Yes. Transfer admissions from IB, ICSE, CBSE, and other boards are welcome at most year group entry points. Our academic team reviews each student's prior learning and, where needed, provides additional transfer credit support to ensure a smooth academic transition into the British curriculum.

Holistic student development is at the heart of everything we do. Beyond academics, students have access to:

  • A wide range of sports, creative arts, and outdoor education programmes
  • Robotics, AI, and design technology learning
  • House competitions and student leadership opportunities
  • Pastoral care and a dedicated student wellbeing team
  • Careers guidance and university counselling

Every programme is designed to develop the whole child, not just the student.
